Robber killed in confrontation with cop in Montego Bay
Two males were shot, one fatally by a policeman during a robbery at the intersection of Harbour and Barnett Street, Montego Bay, St. James on Saturday, January 16.
Dead is 16-year-old Osani Anderson of Lucea, Hanover while injured is a 27-year-old man of Spring Mount, St. James.
Reports received by the CCN are that about 7:00 a.m., Osani and the 27-year-old man held up and robbed a female of her cellular phone and cash at the intersection. The policeman saw the incident and challenged the robbers who attacked him with knives. He took evasive action and opened fire hitting the two. They were taken to hospital where they were admitted. Osani died approximately 9:45 a.m. the same day.
The Bureau of Special Investigations is investigating.
