Man fatally shot during struggle with cop
Twenty-two year-old Germaine Smith otherwise called “Chinaman” of Majesty Gardens, Kingston 11 was fatally shot during a struggle with a police officer in his community last night.
The CCN is reporting that about 8:30 p.m., a police team was on foot patrol in the community when they saw a group of men acting suspiciously. On the approach of the officers the men ran; however, the lawmen chased and held Smith. During a struggle he reportedly tried to disarm one of the policemen and was shot. He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Bureau of Special Investigations has commenced a probe into the incident.
