Child left in car dies, father taken into custody
Five year-old Lloyd Edwards died after he was locked in a car and left unattended by his father on Church Street, Hanover yesterday. The father has since been taken into custody for questioning in relation to his death.
The Lucea Police who are investigating have not yet released the name of his 54-year-old father, pending further investigations.
Information received by the CCN is that about 10:00 a.m., the father parked the car on Church Street with the child inside while he attended a graduation nearby. About four hours afterwards he went back to the vehicle and found the child motionless. The child was taken to the Noel Holmes Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations continue.
