A security guard attached to McKays Security Company was shot dead by a gunman on Sixth Street, Eight West, Great Portmore, St. Catherine this morning.

Dead is Kevin Blackwood, 27, of Eight West, Greater Portmore.

Information received by the CCN is that about 9:00 a.m., Blackwood was walking along Sixth Street when he was pounced upon by a man armed with a gun.  The gunman opened fire hitting him before escaping.  The police were summoned and Blackwood was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died.  

The Portmore Homicide Team is investigating.
