Man shot dead in confrontation with police
One of two men who engaged the police in a shootout was shot dead at Effortville, May Pen, Clarendon this morning.
Dead is Kevroy Edwards otherwise called ‘Silver’, 20, of Farm district, May Pen.
Reports from the CCN’s Clarendon Liaison Officer are that about 6:30 a.m., police officers were on patrol in Effortville when they saw two men armed with handguns. The men were accosted and they ran onto a nearby lane. They were pursued by the lawmen and during a subsequent shootout one of them was shot. A Taurus pistol serial number 86493 with a magazine containing six 9mm cartridges was taken from him. He was taken to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
