Bench warrants were ordered for the investigating officer and one of the complainants in the arson case against Anthony ‘Lutan Fyah’ Martin.

When it was mentioned in the Spanish Town Resident Magist-rate’s Court yesterday, Constable Romaine Wright and Rohan Fuller were not present.

Clerk of the court Floyd Mcnab asked Resident Magistrate Caylis Wiltshire to order the warrants as the case had been going on for some time and no reasonable explanation had being given for their absence.

”Your honour, this is a case before the court for some time now, and even though the complainants have indicated they have no interest in the matter and some form of mediation took place where the accused promised to pay, he is not prepared to plea guilty,” said Mcnab, who added that witnesses said they saw Martin break a window and light the house afire.

Lutan Fyah’s appearance in court arose from a December 2007 incident when three residents of Beacon Hill in Thompson Pen, St Catherine, reported that their house was burnt by the entertainer and other men.

Lutan Fyah is to returned on June 17.
