Teens held with gun
Two persons, including a juvenile, were arrested following the seizure of an illegal firearm on the Mount Salem main road in St James Saturday night.
Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is Jermaine Grant, 19, of Lilliput, while a 15-year-old boy is charged with illegal possession of ammunition.
Police reports are that about 8 p.m., a police operation was carried out in sections of Mount Salem. During the exercise, Grant and the youngster were seen acting suspiciously. They were searched and a home-made handgun with two 12-gauge cartridges found in Grant’s possession. The youngster was found in possession of three 12-gauge cartridges.
They were subsequently arrested and charged by the Montego Bay police who are investigating.
